SUCCESS

Thank you for your support of our inaugural
2008 MARCH FOR BABIES Team. With your
help we were able to raise close to $1500.00.
Nearly three times the amount we set for our
goal (We were trying to be realistic). Jessica &
I hope to never need the services that the
March of Dimes provides but for those who do we
are happy to help them with the research and
resources they provide. For those of you that
couldn’t join us this year we hope to see you or
have your support again next year.

Sincerely Tony and Jessica Masters

Long Running Clients

To keep my digital skills sharp I became a member of LADIG during their inaugural year. We had the great opportunity to meet and be spoken to by the very talented celebrity photographer Greg Gorman a few weeks ago. His insight into the industry of editorial photography was enlightening and somewhat frustrating. It basically narrows down to the fact that too many people have a say in how the photographs will be taken.

While the industry dictates a lot about what it wants in a headshot I still try to get down to what the actor and myself can create as a two person team. I recently photographed an actor I've known for a long time. In my quest, roughly eight years ago, to figure out the headshot industry I asked an aspiring playwright/actor Brett Rickaby if I could do his headshots. We did two rolls of film that day. It "technically" wasn't my best work but Brett and I connected and we got what he wanted. In fact when he showed up last week he said he was still using a couple of the shots we took that day. He has since added to his repertoire of pictures (we're on our fourth photo shoot) but still sends out this eight year old shot. Since it worked so well we photographed an updated, color version of it.

Over the course of eight years Brett has written and starred in two of his own plays in which he had me shoot the press photos for. Brett has appeared in numerous commercial, T.V. and Film roles (including "24" and a scene opposite Sean Penn in "The Assassination of Richard Nixon"). Brett is currently working on a film adaptation of his first play and has some very talented name actors signed on to contribute. This will be his third film as writer/director. Brett is an extremely talented writer and actor. I hope to always be a part of his many projects.

Back from France

Things have been a bit hectic since I got back. What a great trip. I was gone for ten days. Five of which were spent in Paris taking in the city with my fiancé. If you're interested in that portion of the trip you can read about it here

JLG's booth was one of the best at the second largest show of its kind. If you've ever been to the Auto Shows here in the states, this makes them look like a school carnival. We went up nearly ten stories in a vertical lift for this shot. The other is the second story bar and restaurant for entertaining clients.

Since I've been back I've been shooting countless headshots, a fund raiser for Covenant House and a Wedding. JLG is also buying a book I designed of the work we did in France. I'll keep you updated.

Off to France

I have a marketing and design company that hires me to shoot certain trade shows for use in their brochures and website. I'll be in France from the 20th -30th of April taking pictures of a custom 2 story booth with a mural of a city printed on the outside for JLG Industries. I pretty much work at my own pace which makes for a nice change from the other stuff. I'll try to post while I'm gone.

Downtown with Style

Dawn & Bill live in Downtown L.A. We shot in three different locations around the city to capture their unique sense of style and location. Their wedding will be in a downtown studio that should make for some interesting photos this June.

Bill brought along an old Polaroid 440 Camera (made in the early 70's I believe) to grab a few pictures of his future bride. Very cool toy.

Grabbing a moment.

A Cinderella Story

Well, kind of. Amanda came by for her shoot today with smile in hand. She works at Disneyland as Cinderella and was a joy to shoot. I guess being in front of hundreds of cameras everyday makes it easy. I know it makes my job easier. Good Luck Amanda.
